Lesson - Keys

Keys
(By Tyson)

Keys are a bunch of chords that go together and sound good. The base note being the name of the key. Most song can be played in one of the keys on the Key Chart. Now... Suppose you are playing in the key of A with a progression like... A, D, E, and F#m and it doesn't sound right with whoever is singing so you want to change it to uh... C. So what you do is take it up 2 letters which turns it into C, F, G, Am. Now if your wondering why it goes to Am instead of Hm it's because when you get to G it just doesn't go any farther so you go back to the first letter, A. Hopefully that wasn't to hard to understand. Anyway, mess around with keys a little and see what fun you can have with them.

Here's a key chart, I hope it's helpful. It's a complete key chart so you can play in any key you want easily. First of all pick a letter like uh, A#, (which I think is a really weird chord but you chose it, not me.) Below it is your minor chord, (Gm) to the right and left your other 2 chords (F and D#.) So there you have it. Posted by Hello
